new magazines, and I shall be happy to explore the possible uses to which the surrendered land may be put, and other points arising out of the transfer, such as disposal of existing buildings and plant, I suggest a meeting early in October with the Acting Governor, to discuss details. I myself would attend at a time and place to be selected by him, and would be accompanied by Colonels Brownrigg and Skinner.

I would, however, stress the point that although the New and Old Magazines are War Department property, no definite recommendation can be made by me until the Navy have agreed to remove their entire store of explosives from the premises, and until I receive covering approval from the War Office to any provisional agreement reached.
